Lahore History 

Lahore is the capital of the Pakistani province of Punjab, and it has a rich history dating back to ancient times. The city is believed to have been founded by Loh, a son of the Hindu god Rama, and was known as Lohawar. Lahore was ruled by a succession of powerful empires and dynasties, including the Ghaznavids, Ghurids, Mughals, and Sikhs.

During the Mughal period, Lahore reached the peak of its cultural and architectural brilliance. Emperor Akbar built many monumental buildings including Lahore Fort, the Badshahi mosque, and the Wazir Khan mosque. Lahore was also a center of learning and culture, with many poets, scholars, and artists residing in the city.

In the 19th century, Lahore became a prominent center of the Indian independence movement, and many leaders of the movement, such as Lala Lajpat Rai, were from Lahore. After the partition of India in 1947, Lahore became part of Pakistan, and it continued to be an important cultural and economic center.
